International orders can take 1-3 weeks to arrive. Please note that delivery times are only estimates. We are not responsible for shipping delays by the postal service.

Can I track my order?

Yes, you'll receive an email with tracking information once your order ships. Please note that it can take a few business days for USPS to update the tracking information on their website.

How will my order arrive?

The children’s clothing are beautifully wrapped in delicate paper tissue, tied with ribbon and placed in shipping material sourced in the USA. If you're sending items as a gift, we can include a little note. When viewing your cart, you'll see a text box that says Special instructions for seller where you can include the gift note. Receipts are not included in shipments.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do! Please note that shipping is not free on international orders and will vary, but is generally about USD$20.

Also, we are not responsible for any applicable customs, import duties and taxes outside of the USA. Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will or will not be charged customs duty or taxes. Any customs or import duties are charged once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel. Please be aware of this before placing an order.

Returns

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we unfortunately can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error are not eligible for refund.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please note that refunds are not available for international orders.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Shipping

To return your product, you should mail your product to: The Open Road, 305 Forest Drive, Ellsworth, Kansas 67439, USA.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Cancellations

We process orders quickly, within 12 hours, so please email us ASAP at [email protected] if you decide to cancel your order. Include your receipt or Order # in the subject line of the email, so that we can process the cancellation. Sending an email does not automatically cancel your order - you will hear from us! Orders that have been shipped cannot be cancelled.

How do I cancel an order?

You will receive an acknowledgement via email from us. If your order hasn’t been processed yet, we will walk you through the cancellation process. Our items are made of cotton or cotton-blend fabric.

How should I care for my items?

For cotton and cotton blend dresses: hand wash cold and air dry, or machine wash delicate cycle on cold and tumble dry low.

The Open Road

The Open Road features timeless and classic children’s fashion with a social conscience to inspire hope.

It first began as an idea when a mother and her two daughters wanted to give back to the community and empower women who lived in disadvantaged situations earn a living. As a mother, she had dressed her daughters in hand-smocked dresses from a children’s boutique in India.

One of the daughters remembered the smocked outfits from her childhood. On a trip to India she met a friend who had started a children’s clothing store providing an income to impoverished women as tailors, which spurred the idea to form a children’s boutique in the US so others could enjoy the dresses as well. With a humanitarian mission in mind, the ethical fashion from The Open Road uses this transparent supply chain, assisting women from impoverished backgrounds work from home as tailors, to provide outfits that bring pleasure to those who purchase them and joy to those who make them.

The Open Road also supports local businesses right here in the US, with a mission to give back to communities at home and abroad.
